Beginning with the pursuit of quantity and scale of land development since China’s economic system reform in late 20th Century, to the more sophisticated considerations towards the urban landscape in recent years, a majority of the cities in China have been facing challenges and opportunities arising from existing buildings and the growing urban landscape.
In March 2021, the Chinese Government has released the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan, where the Plan gives supervisory directions in terms of urban regeneration, improving the process of urbanization, ecological consideration, and the balanced development of real estate industry and real economy businesses etc. This implies that urban regeneration and sustainability has become the new breaking points of urban development. Under this background, adding the new values to real estate developments becomes vital to the upgrading of the industries and city interface. This may include but not limited to the existing building refurbishment, re-positioning, customized aspects, sustainable considerations, resilience against emergencies, etc.
This webinar invites representatives from the winners of Urban Regeneration of the Year and Sustainability Achievement of the Year 2021 to give the keynote presentations on their projects, with focus on re-positioning of existing building, smart building, ecological protection, and energy saving perspectives. These projects are located across different regions in China and show the comprehensive interpretation of local landscape and the macro-environment of real estate industry.
