The 10th Eurosteel conference, jointly organized by TU Delft, ETH Zurich and Bouwen met Staal, and supported by ECCS will be held in Amsterdam from 12 to 14 September 2023, with a post-conference event at TU Delft on the 15th.
Eurosteel2023 aims to present the latest research results of academics and practitioners related to the use of steel and composite structures in structural applications, with the overall objective of promoting and enabling a more sustainable construction sector. The conference will feature traditional paper presentations, keynote speeches by invited speakers and numerous discussions addressing state of the art technologies and future challenges.
The conference will address “Sustainability policy and research” inviting keynote speakers to convey the importance of the policy documents for future research and development of the construction sector. Prominent practitioners and researchers will be invited to address the conference through short pitches, paving the way for fruitful Dialogue on the stage and with attendees.
We expect 10 parallel sessions daily, as indicated in the program, but two sessions will certainly attract additional attention from practitioners at the first day: “Re-use of steel” and “Impact of new Eurocodes”.
The latest developments in the analysis and design of novel and traditional steel and steel-based composite structures will be presented, for a wide range of applications, including buildings, bridges, towers, supporting structures for renewable energy, and offshore structures, among others. Please check the 19 topics covered by the conference shown in the Program.
Complementing more traditional topics, a specific focus of this event will be on emerging technologies and novel approaches to further increase the environmental sustainability and economy of structural solutions in steel.
A post-conference event will be organised in Delft, 50km from the conference venue, at which colleagues from RWTH, Aachen and University Liege, together with ETH and TUD will lead an open discussion on the future of steel and composite structures at our universities, how to attract talented students and main research topics of future. Everybody is invited to this informal gathering with some outdoor activities.
Conference chairs: Prof. dr. Andreas Taras, ETH, and Prof. dr. Milan Veljkovic, TUD.
